“No man is a failure who is upright and true”

There is weakness in the man who says that luck is against hirn, that he cannot see the way clear to achieve the object of his heart's desire. He admits that he is not master of the situation, that he must succumb to opposition because he is not man enough to overcome it. He admits that he wants success but is not hilling to pay the price for it. He wants something for nothing. His shiftless habits of drifting, of goodfox-nothingness should be antidoted with ambition thoughts.

When a person tells me that he wants something very much, the first thing ~ ask him is, "What are you willing to do to achieve it?" Are you willing to pay the price? If it is a college education one desires, is he willing to take part time jobs in order to pay his way through school, or does he let this become his stumbling block and wait for someone to finance his education for him?

Learn if you will, early in life, not to depend on others. Learn to stand on your own two feet. Blaze your own trail in life. You might be tempted, from time to time, to call on others for financial assistance. There are a lot of people with money, but in some cases, that's all they have, and if that's all they have, they haven't much,. Surround yourself with genuine manhood and womanhood, for they are the true wealth of the world.

The man who is continually stopping to weigh and consider every Possible danger or objection seldom amounts to anything. He is a small man made for small things.

The big man made for big things is the man that, when the going gets tough, turns on more steam and keeps on keeping on. He is the man who is so fired with determination to reach his goal, that he blazes the trail regardless of difficulties. He may see difficulties, but he is not afraid of them. He knows that within him is the power to overcome them.

Develop the habit of minimizing annoyances or difficulties, of making the best out of everything that comes your way, of magnifying the pleasant and agreeable things in life and reducing to the least possible importance everything that is disagreeable or unpleasant. This habit will aid you in the attainment of your goal and bring you happiness and peace of mind. A sunny, buoyant, cheerful soul is worth far more than bags of gold. Such a person has smooth sailing over life's difficulties and obstacles which tend to make others miserable and disagreeable.

The Great Architect of the universe never placed his greatest creation at the mercy of petty trifles, nor did He ever intend him to be crushed by obstacles or have his character ruined by irritations. Mental attitude is the key. It all depends on whether our outlook on life is with a positive mental attitude or a negative mental attitude. Every man has within him the power of changing the unpleasant into the pleasant, the disagreeable into the agreeable, worry thoughts into confident thoughts, and despair into hope and ambition.

When you are confronted with obstacles in life, as surely you will, just remember that there is no such thing as failure unless and until you accept it as such. Instead, consider these obstacles as but temporary defeat, a time in which you can pause briefly, carefully re-evaluate your plan, altering it as need be, gather your second wind, so to speak, and drive forward with all the force which you can muster. Drive straight toward your target, remembering that nothing within the realm of the possible can withstand the man or woman who is intelligently bent on success.
